Why I blog

In no particular order, the reasons that I blog:

• I love to write.
• Writing about something forces me to clarify my own understanding of it. Oftena thought rattles around in my head until I make an effort to write it out.
• I hope someone will correct me if I’m wrong, and I’ll learn.
• My blog collects my thoughts about stuff I read.
• I love the pageviews, retweets, likes, +1s. No, I’m not above that, as much as I’d like to be. Ironically, it is the analytics that expose the futility of chasing poopularity. Posts that I shot off often become popular, and posts that tortured me for months often sink without a trace.
